Colour dimension 2024
Oil pastel, oil on the canvas
Context
This is my first completed abstract painting. The idea originated from the way we perceive objects and colors.
Humans often think we are seeing the outline, and that's how we define the object. However, truly, we see that the colors are on the surface, and the outline is merely a phenomenon. This is how we perceive and understand, not merely what we think we see in the world.
The additional texture creates dimension and depth of the colour as the lines becomes contuse surface.
Medium
We practice drawing lines to gain control over the shapes we create. The more we practice, the better chance we have to draw perfect shapes.
This principle allowed me to align and host raw and undefined colors from the medium.
The mixed texture, through blending, suddenly provides magnified colors and creates depth.
Color dimension is the true nature of behavior. This is how we see the world.
